I do not partake of chat as a rule. I think that is because of the generation gap. Not a habit I developed when young.

I'm a technical writer and I have A+ and Network+ certifications. I have 5 grandchildren, so if there is an old folks clique out there, I'm your guy.

I found opencd.org in the book, "Free Software for Dummies." I have used Gimp for photos now and then, but I am not an expert.

Mostly, I am here to learn. I plan to listen a lot for a while, and speak when spoken to. I would appreciate tips on how to get up to speed in the group. Like I said, discussion groups are not my forte.

Good to see you on here. I too am a new member...and posting to fulfill the required 20 posts. I can seem to find the so called free download. Do I have to wait 7 days to do that? I was told to go here for a class I am taking...and get a template for brochures....any ideas?

I'm a bit younger, but don't chat either. I get too many people who are asking for information that I'm not willing to give...or they are just rude and annoying. I love that you are older and into computers and software. Have you tried the tutorials at GIMP.org? They should help you learn lots of neat stuff you can do almost anything.
