I'm not sure I understand the purpose of forcing people to create twenty posts and wait a week to receive full membership into this area. It is misleading and seems to go against the very spirit of open source sharing. These hoops seem pointless. Perhaps you should consider posting your rationale for it on the front page so that we would not be so frustrated by the delays in accessing the software.

I heard about this site from a presenter at a technology conference, but he failed to mention this hurdle. I am very disappointed in the delay, but will stay the course to see if it is worthwhile. I would LOVE to hear from a full member as to whether or not this dog and pony show is worth the effort. Some light at the end of the tunnel, and all that rot....

You're right. It really does seem to go against the whole idea of open source. Even Microsoft doesn't make me do this.

the purpose of this for me is so that i do not fail my computers course because this paper is worth 25% of my grade
